Hey guys, I'm new to this group and I figured I'd post some of my recent stuff... I work primarily in polymer clay since I cannot afford a kiln right now... I've seen some others people's work on here and I can only hope I learn to have skills like that i've been working in polymer clay for about 2 years now. I started out by making set of horns like ones sold at renn faires... and now i'm willing to try to make just about anything...  constructive criticism is much appreciated or tips.... I hope to make more pieces and maybe even sel them if I can bare to part with them... : )

Goblin Bun-Bun

Goblin - Bun-Bun
mixed media

This is Bun-Bun. He's the happiest of my Goblins! He has a playful personality and is always looking for a juicy snack. ^__^

His head is hand sculpted from polymer clay, his body is a sturdy armature sewn together with pigskin and artificial sinew, and his eyes are small round hematites. His ears are pigskin and fur and he was finished up with a nice sealer and acrylics.

He is 7" tall and stands on his own.

Bun-Bun comes with a signed tag and is the newest member of the Goblins at Blackbird Marmalade Creations.

He would love to hunt big nasty bugs for you and keep the Underbed Monsters in line. ~_^

More Bun-Bun! ^__^Collapse )

New to LJ, This Group, but not to scuplting
Howdy all! I'm another newbie here to LJ and this group- though I know a few of you here from DA...I thought I'd post pics of two of my latest figs: Albrecht and Notus-foehn the Wind Follettis!

Two new Wind Folletti here! The blue fellow is Albrecht the Rain Maker and the firey one is Notus-foehn the Folletti of the hot southern winds.

They ride the winds if the world in their magic little milk-weed pods.

These guys are small... about an inch or so...

:) I just found this community through random interest searches. :)

Does anyone know anything about mixing different brands of polymer clay? I've heard that mixing fimo with sculpey will give you a more durable result. true? false? :) I've just been gifted a big bag of both and I think I'm going to experiment. yay!

and since I just joined, here are some samples of my work. :)

If you are new here, WELCOME!
this is a place where you can post your own art, share news or ask for advice :)
Right now this place LACKS MEMBERS, so if you know someone, feel free to invite :)

Some rough rules:
-ALL ART must be either your own, or you can also advertise another sculptor with their permission
-Fanart allowed, as long as you wont try to sell it here.
-you can post WIPS, ideas, scetches and finished products
-you can post any 3 D media, as long as it remains as much as possible fantasy (exceptions possible)
-You have to remain in the R(nudity and gore allowed) rating and put it behind a warning cut
-if your image is big and stretches other friendslists, please put it behind a cut. Same goes if you decide to post not only, like, 3 works but your full collection
-Auctions/sales posting allowed, Trades and Requets too.
-advertising for materials, conventions, books, materials is allowed

thats all I can think of, if there are any questions, feel free to ask :)
